Founded in 1929, the Santa Clara Valley Water District, now known as Valley Water, provides safe, clean water; flood protection; and stewardship of streams. The organization's mission is to provide Silicon Valley safe, clean water for a healthy life, environment, and economy.
Valley Water has a rolling five-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) with 68 projects worth $8.02 billion. The average project is $97 million and the largest project, the Pacheco Reservoir Expansion Project, is $2.5 billion. The duration of the average project is 12 years, and the longest project is 37 years. Projects in the CIP improve, repair, replace or construct infrastructure.
Valley Water is implementing Projectmates to manage and track its capital projects through each project delivery stage due to its ease of use and its capabilities of expenditure tracking, invoicing, project document management, such as grant and loan requirements, reduction of manual processes, and management of approvals for change orders and submittals throughout all project phases. Using Projectmates will also facilitate ease of transition between each project phase and from closeout to operations.
